In this program, two enormous pillars in the canon of great works for piano and string quartet are featured side-by-side. Beethoven’s unique and dramatic, seven-movement late string quartet is followed by Schubert’s last, and possibly greatest, work that he composed before his untimely death at the age of 31. The Fry Street Quartet and pianist Frank Weinstock will perform.
