The six string quartets by Bela Bartok were a seminal artistic achievement of the 20th century, and remain one of the great bodies of works in the history of the string quartet. Bartok revolutionized string quartet writing with these pieces, and the power, poetry, and genius of these works have inspired audiences for nearly 100 years.
The Fry Street Quartet is proud to present the first complete Bartok Cycle in the Russell Wanlass Performance Hall at Utah State University. Noted Bartok scholar and speaker Peter Laki joins the FSQ in a presentation of the complete cycle over three evenings. An engaging public speaker, Dr. Laki will offer his expertise and knowledge to audiences while interacting onstage with the quartet to create an unforgettable, immersive experiences with these masterpieces.
